Long time since we've talked. Hoping everyone is well. You may have heard by now that there will be a showing of "Fellowship of the Ring" at Radio City Music Hall this fall, accompanied by a full orchestra playing the score. http://www.theradiocitylotrconcert.com/ Many events are being planned for the weekend, but the big thing to announce at the moment is a TORn dinner on Friday, October 9, for all message board and chat room folks. There has also been a group rate arranged, though rooms are going very very fast. If anyone on this mailing list is interesting in attending -- if not the concert, then perhaps the weekend -- and would like more information, please get in touch with me and I'll do my best to fill you in! Keep in touch! ~ lisa From miminoland at earthlink.net Mon Aug 3 01:38:57 2009 From: miminoland at earthlink.net (MIMI NOLAND) Date: Mon, 3 Aug 2009 00:38:57 -0500 Subject: [Barlibash] Barlibash/concert Message-ID: Hi Lisa..I'm interested in getting a room where ever all the torn folks will be staying...I will be travelling alone, most likely...would prefer a single room, non-smoking...due to my handicap, the closest to elevator or outside access is best..but If it's a choice between being in a room away from all the Barlibashers and closer to outside access, I'll take the longer walk rather than being isolated from other torn folks I might know. I don't expect you to do all my reservations...just letting you know what I'll be needing so you get a heads up. I could maybe more safely take a room with two beds,(still non-smoking is vital)...in case either of my musician friends decide to go along. Can u let me know what hotel they'll be staying in so I can call for reservations, and any code or name the reservation needs to be under in order to apply any discount. Thanks! I hope I can still get tickets to the concert... will check tomorrow. my cell is 612-799-8706, farm is 763-479-6110. I've been asking at Barli's..but this is the first I've heard of any group going to the concert. It should be fantastic. But I'm just a farm kid..not very wise to travel or hotel reservations...except by train. I'll check that out. Not a fan of flying, but could do.( with major tranquilizers....) : ) Just didn't want to be in NYC by myself and handicapped. any info appreciated.!!! Yay. Take care, Serafina/Mimi
