[Barlibash] not so good news

Well folks, 
 
I'm not sure anyone really cares, but I (and Sam) won't be able to make
Barlibash this year after all. No, it wasn't the fear of bathing suits or
anything like that - we were really looking forward to seeing everyone
again.
 
It seems that in the past 2 weeks or so, my nagging uncooperative hip has
blown up into an excruciatingly painful hip. I went to the doctor and have
had an MRI and been diagnosed with avascular necrosis, which is basically
the bone dying from poor blood flow. 
 
I will really miss everyone (and the shrimp!) but as it stands right now, I
am utterly invalid and have gone from a cane to a walker. I just cannot see
me trying to get around wallyworld, much less a sandy beach.
 
As of now I am out of work on medical leave, weighing my surgical options. I
think I may have a new hip by the time BB rolls around : /
 
Y'all keep Thor and Naz in line for me and I hope to see y'all next year in
Savannah!!!
