We've got a client at the firm I work for who calls Chicago as "home" - I took the liberty of asking where HE would recommend, figuring that we could pick-and-choose over the offerings.

His response follows:
"I always enjoy Maggianno’s for Italian food, My last couple of outings to Debevic’s has not had good service, and I’ve never been to Fado.I looked on the web and it looks like a fun pub. Also consider Uno’s or Due’s for Chicago style pizza.

Navy Pier is a lot of fun; Millennium Park is a hot attraction, Grant Park and Buckingham Fountain, all of the stores on Michigan Avenue, John Hancock Center, and the Sears Tower make good destinations - but that is already more than a day!"

I don't know if any of those suggestions can (or need to) be incorporated into the tentative schedule, but they're there for the taking!
