[Barlibash] Barlibash 2005

I was in Orlando in June and it was godawful with the heat. It was great
to see po and Robb there, but the heat was just unbearable. When you
reach a certain age, it seems that anything over 75 is just horribly hot
and unbearable. The weather in Boston was just perfect for me. Not hot,
but comfortable. I just cannot tolerate heat anymore. Sorry, but that's
the way it is for us older gals sometimes. So, if Houston is chosen as
the site of the next bash, have a great time, but I won't be there for
the party. Just can't do it anymore.

I was waiting for someone to make that point. It is summer, after all.
It is going to be hot in most places. I would rather go someplace that
is used to it being hot and has AC everywhere, like Orlando or Houston.
I spent 3 summers in Orlando (working outside in slacks and pantyhose,
mind you) and it wasn't really a problem.
I have to admit, the LOTR exhibit would be a draw for me. Remember, it
will be a year from now. Who knows what may be changed or added by then?

Boise, Montana? Rapid City, South Dakota?
I know Texas is hotter than hot (I've been to Austin in August, thank
you!) but I kinda liked the idea because that way I could go and visit
the NASA - something I've always wanted to do. Besides the exhibit, that
would be the only appeal though :)
San Fran is nice - but Southwest, hhmm... I love it! Sedona is wonderful
(but it's tiny, there would not be as many things to do as in Boston or
Seattle). How about Santa Fe NM? I must say however that all of these
places (except San Fran where it rains most of the time, hehehe) are
pretty HOT in the summer.
How about Philadelphia? Maybe Calisuri would come, now that he's going
to be living on the East Coast again :)
