[Barlibash] Bash draws near - I can feel it!

It is the 14th of May as I write this. There are 70 days until we
Tolkein Folk descend upon Seattle like a swarm of somewhat geekish locusts,
making constant references to assorted things being "our preciousss...we
wantsss it!", and generally frightening the customer service folks.
What does this mean? This means that most of you who are interested in
coming need to get on the ball. I've got the fee from a scant hanful, and
the hotel reservations from even fewer. The hotel would like to know what's
going on as soon as possible, and if there are to be more people staying in
the hotel that I currently have rooms blocked for, I need to know *asap*,
while there is still a chance of blocking more rooms.
I also need to know a few other things - other than our reception, our
banquet, and our trip downtown - do people want organised activities, or
would they prefer to be left to find their own brand of recreation?
Also, I need to know if anybody attending has special dietary
requirements, so I can make accomodations for the banquet - if you're a
vegan, I need to make sure that there is proper stuff for you. =]
So, here's what needs to be done.
If you haven't paid your fee, please consider doing that soon - PayPal
to curunir@theonering.net right now, and I'll have a mailing address within
the next day or two that will be emailed out.
If you plan to stay in the hotel, and have not yet made your
reservations, contact me immediately for the necessary information. Include
at *least* the name under which you'll be making your reservations, so that
I can match my information with the hotel's.
Also, how many people would be interested in a t-shirt for the event?
I'm looking at handling this a bit differently than I did last year, but
haven't decided yet - it'll depend on how many people I'm dealing with on
the matter.
Please get that stuff taken care of, folks - it's very important, and
time grows short. Please let me know if there's anything I can do - now
that I've emerged from the murky swamp of term papers and final exams, I
should be much more "present", and rapidly responsive.
Thanks for your interest, and I hope to see you - all 200 of you - in
Seattle. ;-)
