Calif LOTR fan club, adopted the Coldstone Creamery for the night on Monday, 4-25 at the Paseo Colorado Mall in Pasadena as part of Make-A-Wish's 25th anniversary celebration. Cold Stone Creamery stores across the U.S. launched a month-long fund-raising effort to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
12 members of Tolkien Forever volunteered to provide a Middle Earth experience for those attending this ColdStone. In attendance were "Frodo", "Sam", "Eowyn" in armor, Rohan warriors and maidens, and more hobbits. Games such as "Pin the Tail on the Warg" were a big success as you can see by the line in the photos attached. There was also LOTR trivia contests, coloring contests, and LOTR trivial pursuit and Risk. Special LOTR-themed prizes were given for the winners. Many photo-ops were requested by the customers with the Middle Earth citizens, along with photo-ops with the life-sized Legolas, Aragorn and Eowyn.
Make-A-Wish Ice Cream Cake," inspired by Micah, a twelve-year-old wish child from the Boston area, was given out free to all who dropped by ColdStone. The ice cream cake consists of layers of yellow cake, chocolate ice cream, chocolate chip cookie dough, and chocolate shavings wrapped in a rich chocolate ganache. A Wish Child and his family were also in attendance and enthusiastically joined the Lord of the Rings/Make-A-Wish celebration.
