TORn Staffer Garfeimao writes:

Tolkien fans in the LA area will have two events they can attend this weekend. Most already know about the West Coast premiere of Ringers: Lord of the Fans, at the Lido Cinema on Saturday as part of the Newport Beach Film Festival. But there is another event on Monday night, which will be a fundraising event for Make a Wish.

Saturday, April 23, 2005, Newport Beach, CA.

Ringers: The Lord of the Fans documentary will have it's West Coast premiere at the Newport Beach Film Festival. There will be a Line Party before the film to celebrate, with people showing up as early as 12:30pm. We plan games, coloring for the kids, trivia contests and a Masquerade at 5pm. Please see the Line Party page for details of the schedule and for directions.

Monday, April 25, 2005, Pasadena, CA.

Be a part of the 4th annual World's Largest Ice Cream Cake social.

Tolkien Forever, the So. Calif LOTR fan club, is adopting a Coldstone Creamery for the night on Monday, 4-25 at 330 E. Colorado Blvd., #232, in the Paseo Colorado Mall, as part of Make-A-Wish LA 25th anniversary celebration. We will be there in LOTR costumes, and will be providing fun activities & entertainment between 5pm and 8:00pm, such as "Pin the Tail on the Warg", LOTR Trivia contests, face painting, and a LOTR drawing and coloring area. Cool LOTR prizes will be awarded for the games winners.

Cold Stone Creamery stores across the U.S. have launched a month-long fund-raising effort to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. In honor of the Foundation's milestone, Cold Stone Creamery announces that all ice cream and ice cream cake purchases made during April will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. In addition, for a $1 donation, Cold Stone will invite ice cream lovers to invent their own signature ice cream Creations(tm) and have their name and recipe inscribed on a special Make-A-Wish star to be posted on the store walls throughout the month.

During the month of April, Cold Stone Creamery will also debut its "Make-A-Wish Ice Cream Cake," inspired by Micah, a twelve-year-old wish child from the Boston area. The ice cream cake consists of layers of yellow cake, chocolate ice cream, chocolate chip cookie dough, and chocolate shavings wrapped in a rich chocolate ganache, and will be given out free on 4-25.

Please join fellow Middle Earth lovers for fun, ice cream and free cake!
