Douglas Anderson, author of THE ANNOTATED HOBBIT, Revised and Expanded Edition, to be published by Houghton Mifflin in September, will be giving a slide show presentation entitled "Annotating and Illustrating The Hobbit" at the upcoming Comic-Con and Gen Con conventions. Anderson will show how THE HOBBIT has been professionally illustrated over the years, covering the background of J.R.R. Tolkien and his writings.

Anderson is a renowned Tolkien scholar whose expertise in the complicated textual history and evolution of both HE HOBBITand THE LORD OF THE RINGS has led to the inclusion of his essays on these topics in most editions of those works published in English since 1987.
