What is a Line Party?
A "Line Party" is loosely defined as a group of fans gathering at a movie theater prior to the release of a film. In our case, we have expanded the Line Party page to include ALL Tolkien related events in your area. A "Line Party" at TheOneRing.net can also be defined as a series of events, happenings, and activities designed for fans in a specifically defined geographical space. In english; A way for Tolkien fans in your neighborhood to get together and celebrate their love for J.R.R. Tolkien and all of his works. The events do NOT have to revolve around a simple theater line. Gathering a coffee shops, chat rooms and other unique ideas are greatly encouraged.
How do I join a Line Party?
To join a Line Party, simply visit the Line Party homepage (http://www.theonering.net/movie/lineparty), scroll down to the search form and fill in your appropriate information. It is important that you enter the city of the theater, which in some cases might not necessarily be the same as your city. You can also search by country/state without actually entering a city name. This will give you a complete list of theaters in that country/state. Clicking on one of the listings will bring you to the individual Line Party page and enable you to 'join the party.'
How do I leave a Line Party?
If for some reason you don't want to party with your friends and neighbors, and you want to remove yourself from a Line Party list, please email your line party leader with your request by clicking on the button "Email Admin" from your line party page. You line leader will be able to remove you using their admin pages.
How do I start a Line Party?
To start your own Line Party, you should first determine if the theater you plan on attending already has a Line in TheOneRing.net's database. Once there, read the quidelines and qualifications. Then follow the detailed instructions and, voila, you have started your line!
I'm a Line Admin. Where can I find suggestions for Line Party activities?
TheOneRing.net will email all Line Party administrators on a regular basis with ideas for Line Party events. With a staff of over 44, we are sure to come up with some great plans, and we'll be passing them along.
I have a horrible Line Party Administrator. They do nothing. What can I do?
If your Line Party administrator is slacking in their duties, simply address an email to lineparty@theonering.net. We will investigate the quality and activity of the Line Party and its administrator. If we find the administrator is indeed slacking, we will assign a new administrator to oversee operations.
My Line Party Administrator is acting inappropriately. What should I do?
If you have a problem with the Line Party Administrator for your local theater, email lineparty@theonering.net. We will investigate your claims and take the appropriate action.
