Auckland Film Festival: LOTR Doco Screened!

Cunning Vixen is one of the lucky people who caught a screening of Costa Botes' documentary, "The Making of the Fellowship of the Ring". The film features footage never before released from behind the scenes of the LOTR filming. This documentary has been released for the NZ-based film festival only, and New Line Cinema asked that it have the caveat of being a "Work in Progress." CV tells us all about it, and plans to delare marshal law if this exact print is NOT allowed to be seen outside NZ....and I'll be a card carrying member of that revolt if it's true! [More]

Teenagers now can take a literature class that immerses them in the world of hobbits, fairies and wizards made popular by the "Lord of the Rings" movies. Amelia Harper, a teacher from Nashville, N.C., spent 20 months developing "Literary Lesson from 'Lord of the Rings,' " a one-year curriculum for students ages 12 to 18. The course includes background on classics such as "Beowulf," "The Iliad" and the "Arthurian Romances," but its focus is on the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy written by J.R.R. Tolkien. [More]
