FOTR Release Date: Australia
6/18/01, 9:52 am EST - Xoanon
From: Paul T
I've just heard from someone I know in the film indusrty in Oz, he tells me the Aussie release date is Dec 26th - Boxing Day.
And the reason is: All the Big movies are released on Boxing Day if they are going to be released in December in Australia. It is the first day of the Boxing Day test (cricket) and it is the biggest movie going day of all year downunder.
LOTR films in Japan - Katakana worries.
6/18/01, 7:29 am EST - Tehanu

These two pics are doing the rounds on the European LOTR sites. They look familiar, but believe me it's getting harder to be sure. They're worth a look for the high quality. Note the 'Eye' plaque on the horses' harness. One of the black horses is a chestnut with a dodgy dye job, I swear. !SPOILERS!

Hobbit Peregrine wrote in to say, " I have some really good news! June 27-28 PBS is running Gormenghast starring our very own Christopher Lee! I just found this out because I had my T.V. turned to PBS and they ran a "heads up" deal. I hope this will help to tide us over until the real deal comes out in theaters!!!!"
It's had mixed reviews, but it's an ambitious production, looks gorgeous and Lee is perfect in the role - Tehanu
The release date in Argentina.
6/18/01, 2:19 am EST - Tehanu
A couple of weeks ago while reading La Nación
newspaper I found the release date expected for FOTR in Argentina. This is the 20th of December 2001, although its one day after the world wide release date it's before Brazil's. This might be due to the fact that in Argentina films are always released on Thursdays, but apparently they will be doing an exception for Jurassic Park III (18th of July) which is a Wednesday. I hope the will do the same with the greatest movie ever, of course this is The Felowship of the Ring.

Hollywood one-one-one did a short insert on the upcoming movies this evening. I was watching the Starz movie channel's movie series "Starz! Movie News" today when to my surprise I saw a segment on the LOTR movie.
