Contrary to rumors that it might receive an R rating due to extended battle sequences, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring Special Extended DVD Edition has received a PG-13 rating from the MPAA, the same rating as the original theatrical version. Media Watch: DVD Monthly in the UK

I saw the May edition of the UK magazine DVD Monthly today. It has a large LOTR picture on the cover and a lavishly illustrated six page article inside. The article is mainly a synopsis of FOTR but there are also separate short features on all the main characters - their individual characteristics, strengths and weaknesses. Legolas's weakness, for instance, is that he doesn't display leadership qualities. There is an associated website at UKonline but it hasn't updated to the May edition yet.

Orlando Blooms Into Hawkeye?

TheOneRing.net EXCLUSIVE A rumor has surfaced that Orlando Bloom (Legolas) is considering taking up the bow and arrow yet again to play another hero from literature -- young "Hawkeye" in the adaptation of "The Deerslayer." The classic American novel by James Fenimore Cooper is the prequel to "Last of the Mohicans." Daniel Day-Lewis played the grown-up Nathaniel "Hawkeye" Bumppo in the 1992 Michael Mann film. What do Legolas fans think? Is Orlando the right guy to fill Hawkeye's moccasins?
