Murderous Intent

10/11/02, 9:58 pm EST - Xoanon

Film stars, eh? Glamourous bunch, the lot of them. No doubt they live it up when jetting off on location. Sean Bean, star of many films, including Lord of the Rings and Goldeneye, lets us in on what goes on behind the scenes. Whilst making Don't Say a Word with Michael Douglas, he had a break from filming. "I had a few days off," he says, "and was hanging out in a hotel room in New York." So far, so predictable. Brace yourself for stories of excessive movie star behaviour. "I had a bit of time to kill," he says, "so I went off to a book shop and bought myself a copy of Macbeth." What's all this? Book shop? Reading? More]

Product Review: The Ringwraith on Steed Statue

10/09/02, 12:29 am EST - Jincey

Back in August 2001 I was checking out Sideshow-Weta's wonderful booth at Atlanta's Dragon*Con. Here they had displayed many of their items: the stone trolls, the Moria environment, and lots and lots of busts and statues. As I made my way slowly through the booth, I came to a new item that I'd not seen or heard about, and I was immediately captivated by it. The Ringwraith on Steed prototype statue was on display and I fell totally in love with the exquisite detail and beauty (yes, beauty) of the piece. [Full Review]

Latin American LOTR fans get a raw deal?

10/08/02, 8:08 pm EST - Tehanu

We keep hearing from fans in Latin America who are annoyed about two injustices. One is that, like FOTR last time, TTT will open behind the rest of the world: on January 2 in most Latin American countries. They're even more upset by New Line's decision not to release the FOTR extended-version DVD in 'Region 4' Latin-America. Brazilian site Valinor has a petition protesting against this, with more than 5000 signatures so far.

TTT Trailer - Check first.

10/08/02, 7:53 pm EST - Tehanu

While the TTT trailer is supposed to appear in front of 'Red Dragon' in the US (and one correspondent in Germany saw it in front of 'Minority Report') we can't urge strongly enough: If you're just seeing some movie in the hopes of catching the TTT trailer on the big screen, IT PAYS TO CHECK FIRST with the cinema staff. Certain cinemas don't have it or decide, for their own reasons, to attach the trailer to something else.

Orcs to attack premiere in Sweden

10/08/02, 7:46 pm EST - Tehanu

For the premier of TTT in Sweden/Helsingborg some major plans are being made. At least 15 great-looking uruk-hais will be inside the cinema entry. And a forest will be built up inside where we will lurk, so the people that come to see TTT have to go through our nest. If they dare to cross our path, they will be well met by Elves, knights and other friendly creatures. The orcs will charge at the knight sometimes, capture a nice fellows' girlfriend ;). There are great things going on here in Sweden.
