Peter Lyon And Kirin Shah Chat With TORn!
-
Demosthenes @ 03:59 PST

TORn staffer Balin is at TolCon in Seattle at the moment. He was able to invite WETA swordmaster Peter Lyon (maker of Anduril, Hadhafang and thousands of other swords used in LoTR) and stuntman and size-double Kirin Shah to wander onto the TORn IRC server for a quick chat with TORn regulars to talk about their experience with LoTR and what they're up to these days. Hall Of Fire This Weekend - The Noldor Revolt!
-
Demosthenes @ 08:49 PST

'After a time a great concourse gathered around the Ring of Doom; and the Valar sat in shadow, for it was night. But the stars of Varda now glimmered overhead, and the air was clear; for the winds of Manwe had driven away the vapours of death and rolled back the shadows of the sea.' The Silmarillion.

The Two Trees are destroyed and Morgoth has fled. Yet, even as the Valar and the Elves mourn, the Powers ask Feanor to sacrifice the Silmarils so the Two Trees might be resurrected by Yavanna. [More]

Hall Of Fire This Weekend -- Your Fan Experience
-
Demosthenes @ 19:40 PST

Are you a convention fan? Have you been to a Lord of the Rings convention or taken part in a lining-up party? Perhaps you even organised one. If you have, join us this weekend and share your LoTR fan experience with us.

Perhaps you got to meet and talk to some of the cast or crew. You might well be an autograph hunter. Or perhaps you have a more scholarly bent. Or maybe, for you it's all about the fun of catching up with fellow fans and enjoying the atmostphere. [More]

-
Demosthenes @ 19:43 PST

"When Manw heard of the ways that Melkor had taken, it seemed plain to him that he purposed to escape to his old strongholds in the north of Middle-earth; and Orom and Tulkas went with all speed northward, seeking to overtake him if they might, but they found no trace or rumour of him beyond the shores of the Teleri ..." -
Demosthenes @ 18:34 PST

Elrond's heart forbade him going with the Fellowship; Gandalf encouraged him to throw himself down a well as a preventative measure against stupidity. This weekend in Hall of Fire, we discuss Pippin Took: Bold, hard halfling or piece of luggage? [More]
